Allow me to personally say to you how greatly I appreciate the valuable time you have taken out for this message. The Bible teaches that God loves each person, including you. At times in our lives, we know this to be true. We experience God’s light and favor shining on us in obvious ways, but at other times, this is difficult to believe when everything in our lives are falling apart. I don’t know which of these phases you are in right now, but first I want to say that God loves you during either of these seasons.
However, here’s the question: have you given your love to God? You may know how it feels to offer your love to someone and they not give it back. It’s like Jesus dying on the cross for you and you won’t even acknowledge that. Don’t leave Him hanging—literally. That’s exactly what we did to Him. In a spiritual way, all of humanity was at the cross when the Son of God died, and we left Him there, hanging on the cross. How was all of humanity there, you may ask?
We were there by representation—by substitution. Because of our sins against God, it should have been us dying for our own sins. Instead, Jesus, the sinless and perfect God-Man, represented us. He was our substitute.
Now, I certainly do not intend to present to you a weak and dying God. He overcame death when He rose from the dead. This is proof that He is not only God, but that Jesus is worthy of our love and trust. Do you want to trust Him today? This is a very difficult step to take, yet it’s so simple. It’s difficult because taking that step can be so intimidating to us. On the other hand, it is so simple because we know in our heart of hearts that if we do take that step, we’ll find the home we’ve been searching for in God.
Though it is intimidating, I still want you to accept Him into your life. Here is a suggested prayer to accept Him. These words are only suggestive. What really matters is if you truly believe the words, but if these words match what you desire in your heart, then you’re welcome to say them to God:
Dear, God, I believe that You do love me, and from now on, I want to love you. I want to accept the love You offered me through Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus, I believe that You died and rose again from the dead. Please forgive me of my sins, take control of my life, and change me into what you want me to be.
If you prayed this prayer and you believe Jesus has truly come into your life, we would love to hear from you. Please send us an email that will go directly to our pastor, and let us know how we can pray for you. Thank you, and we look forward to meeting you.
