Our beloved pastor, Rev. T. D. Desso, is a committed husband, father, and minister of the gospel. From the town of Magnolia, Arkansas, Rev. Desso was raised in a Christian home and in the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ as his Savior. Immediately after graduating from Magnolia High School in 2007, he moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in north Texas where he began his college studies.
Upon moving to Texas, Rev. Desso united with the New Victorious Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. D. L. Ellison. He was given the assignment to teach a weekly children’s Sunday School class, and soon after, at the age of twenty, he accepted his calling to preach. He served in this capacity as an associate minister for ten years.
During this tenure, Rev. Desso was productive in his education and other academic endeavors. In 2012, he completed an Associate’s of Arts from Tarrant County College. In 2014, he completed a Bachelor’s of Arts in English from Texas Wesleyan University. Also in December of 2020, he received his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he is in the process of beginning his PhD studies. He teaches at multiple seminaries and Bible colleges. Rev. Desso is also the author of two Christian, historical fiction novels, the latest of which is titled Fifteen Promises, and he is currently working on other theological works that are soon to be published.
In 2016, Rev. Desso married Shelia Thomas. They are always excited about and are willing to tell people how they met each other at church and how they shared a passion for education. Shelia Renee is the bright spot in Rev. Desso’s life, and together, they have two children, Janah Renee, 3, and James Carpenter, 2.
In 2019, Rev. Desso and his family united with the Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Kraig Lowell Pullam. During the short time they were members there, they were able to establish great relationships, but the Lord quickly moved them to a new phase of life when Rev. Desso was asked to serve as the pastor of the Bread of Life Church.
In December of 2019, Rev. Desso and his wife began their journey at the Bread of Life Baptist Church. Rev. Desso is loved by the members of Bread of Life and has worked diligently to share the love of Christ, help people discover and live in their giftedness, connect with the community, and to faithfully and accurately preach and teach the word of God.
From the Pastor: I am honored that you have taken the time to learn more about us and our mission. I may not have had the pleasure to personally meet you, but I have already prayed and asked God to bless whoever reads this. You are welcome to visit us, and we want to know how we can be a blessing in your life and for your family. Thank you, and may the Lord bless.
